NPC’s
NPC’s are special characters who are colored blue which are controlled mainly by staff. These NPC’s can vary from special types of zombies that can randomly appear in threads (following the invasion rules of course!) to groups of bandits out to rob you blind. These characters can be killed (though they ‘respawn’ in other threads so that staff doesn’t have to keep making the same character over and over again) and will come with general knowledge and information to them when they enter the thread: both OOC and IC knowledge.
NPC’s such as bandits will come with a pre-determined list of items on their person(s) which can be looted after death. These items, no matter what they may be, follow the same rules as the Dice Roll rules located under the
Reputation and Items Guideline. While bandits will change up from time to time depending on the staff member playing them there are a few NPC’s you can find below which will remain the same from name to name.
The Bloater- Image:
The Bloater is a semi-slow moving zombie with Rank 1 Tier 3 speed. It doesn’t bite or scratch, however it does explode upon contact. This zombie is lethal in the fact that when it explodes a rapidly expanding cloud of toxic, infected gas appears. This gas will fill an area of ten meters in all directions of the exploded bloater, and will linger 3 posts. Anyone caught without proper protection (like a gas mask) when a Bloater explodes will have to do a dice roll to determine if they become sick or not.
Those who become sick due to a Bloater must obtain and take antibiotics within 10 posts or they will become too sick to move. An additional 5 posts later they will die if treatment is still not given.
Even if a bloater is shot in the head their stomach will explode and release the toxic gas 1 post later. If shot in the stomach it will explode immediately.
The Screamer- Image:
The Screamer moves at Rank 2 Tier 1 speed. It doesn’t have arms, therefore is incapable of scratching, yet it will bite if you get too close. However, this is not the dangerous aspect of The Screamer: for those who get within a two meter radios of the screamer they will no doubt be hit with a loud stunning scream. This scream will render anyone without proper ear protection momentarily stunned (for the remainder of that post).
The Screamer is capable of letting out one tremendous scream per post.
The Screamer can be put down the same as any zombie.
The Feral- Image:
The Feral is one of the most lethal of the classified ‘special zombies’. It is wicked fast, moving at Rank 4 Tier 3 speed. It’s most basic attack is to run up on an unsuspecting individual, pin them to the ground, and begin to tear them open.
The feral can be put down the same as any zombie.
The Big ‘Un- Image:
The Big ‘Un is a specially dangerous beast standing at nearly 7 feet tall and weighing nearly 400 pounds.
He has Rank 4 Tier 3 strength (capable of ripping a man in half with its bare hands, and also has bursts of speed. These bursts of speed reach up to Rank 3 Tier 3, but only go in a single direction and only last up to one post (the next post is spent ‘catching its breath’). The Big ‘Un’s are especially sturdy, and have a high amount of endurance Rank 3 Tier 3. They require 5 shots to the head with a .45 caliber or higher gun to be put down.
While beating them to death is possible (destroying the head/brain) it’s not wise to get within grabbing distance of this brute as he can an will easily tear you apart and eat you.
